WATERFORD ROTARY TO HOST
TWELFTH ANNUAL MAKE MINE WINE FUNDRAISER

NEW LONDON CUSTOM HOUSE MARITIME MUSEUM,
SOUND COMMUNITY AND
WOMEN’S CENTER OF SOUTHEASTERN CT
TO BENEFIT

Got Some Time? Make Mine Wine!  Waterford Rotary Club will host the Twelfth Annual Make Mine Wine, a gala wine tasting and silent auction, on Friday, May 11, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. The fundraiser will take place at the Eugene O’Neill Theater, Waterford, CT and will benefit the New London Custom House Maritime Museum, Sound Community Services and the Women’s Center of Southeastern CT.

For more information and to reserve tickets, contact the Custom House at (860) 447-2501.

This year’s event will feature a tremendous variety of imported and domestic wines, spirits, cordials and a selection of craft brews and imported beers courtesy of Ed Cramer, owner of Gordon’s Yellow Front Package Store.  Additionally there will scotch tasting, vodka tasting and tequila tasting, too!  To top it off, a cigar vendor will even be there.  Finally, you can expect your palate to be tempted and satisfied by a variety of mouthwatering dishes and desserts catered by Filomena’s.  Live music will complement the evening by the James Hunter Group.

Anne Ogden, Chairperson of the event said, “ Part of the fun of Make Mine Wine is talking to the representatives about their products — how they should be served, what foods they go good with — it‘s always good fun to try new things!”  She adds, with a wink, “Though I only eat meat and potatoes.”

The Eugene O’Neill Theater is full of local charm.  It’s the ideal venue for an elegant evening. Since the event’s inception, Waterford Rotary has raised over $100,000 to support local charities.  This year’s partners and beneficiaries include Sound Community Services, the New London Custom House Maritime Museum and the Women’s Center of SE CT. Prizes donated to the Silent Auction include items from around the area. The event is not only a financial success but also a success of fellowship and volunteerism.

Tickets to the Twelfth Annual Make Mine Wine Gala Wine Tasting and Silent Auction make a great gift. The $35.00 ticket price (or 2 for $60. pre-event price) is a well-spent sum because not only will ticket holders experience quality beverages, fine dining and entertainment, but the money will help the Waterford Rotary in its commitment to “Service Above Self.”

“We are really excited about our Twelfth Annual Make Mine Wine, says Ogden.  “I’m going to buy tickets as a gift — the recipient will have a wonderful time, and everyone can feel good about giving back to the community.”

Be a part of the success of this worthy cause and enjoy an unparalleled evening at the same time.  Call Anne at (860) 440-2511 to order your tickets today or stop in to Gordon’s Yellow Front Wines & Liquors on Colman Street in New London.

SILENT AUCTION DONATIONS
Got Some Time? Make Mine Wine!

Friday, May 11, 2012 from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. marks the 12th Annual Make Mine Wine Gala Wine Tasting and Silent Auction at the beautiful Eugene O’Neill Theater in Waterford, Connecticut. Sponsored by the Waterford Rotary and Gordon’s Yellow Front Wines & Liquors, Make Mine Wine will again feature international wines, spirits, cordials, micro brews, live music and a tremendous assortment of silent auction items. Wines and spirits are donated by the suppliers so advertisements, silent auction items and most ticket revenues go to charity.

Our primary beneficiaries of this year’s event will be Sound Community Services, Inc. and  the Custom House Maritime Museum in New London and The Women’s Center of SE Ct..

Silent Auction items are on display during the entire evening of the wine Tasting. As a donor, you may have your business card displayed with your donated item.  This affords you “free” advertisement for your business as well as demonstrates your support for Rotary and our Partners.  Your business will also be listed as a donor in the Program Book distributed the evening of the event.  We will send you, at your request, a receipt documenting the value of your donation for tax purposes.  Waterford Rotary Foundation is a 501(c) (3).

We know there are many worthwhile charities that ask for your support.  Our purpose is to ensure the money we raise goes back into our community, your community.  Our expectations are for this tasteful event to host 250 guests and raise about $20,000 for local community organizations.

Supporting Waterford Rotary’s 12th Annual fundraiser through advertising and attendance will help businesses like yours extend name recognition while associating with a worthwhile, local cause. Please join other companies and individuals who have already pledged their support.
